Hey folks,

as Microsoft announced today Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery are available in both German Azure Regions Germany Central and Germany North East as of now. So even for companies that rely on strict compliance rules it is now possible to use long-term backups in the cloud or build reliable BCDR architectures for Hyper-V, VMware and physical server infrastructures.

You can find Microsoft’s official announcement in German and English here.

So if there were compliance rules preventing you from getting rid of backup tapes in the past or if you’ve not been able use the cloud for your BCDR strategy because of restrictions; even if you’ve not been able to do lift and shift migrations to the cloud using ASR – now it’s your turn. Get up, give it a try and lift your BCDR strategy to a new level.

If you even want to learn more on Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery live don’t forget to register for our inaugural Azure Saturday 2017 conference on 24th of June 2017 in Microsoft’s Headquarter in Munich where I’m going to speak on these topics in my session about Azure Business Continuity Solutions.

Bye for now and stay tuned,
Thomas
